Charlee Ann Hadley Crowned Miss Juneteenth NVLas Vegas, NV – Charlee Ann Hadley, a 15-year-old student at Centennial High School, has been crowned Miss Juneteenth NV. Born in Riverside, California, and raised in Las Vegas, Charlee Ann has distinguished herself through her academic pursuits, artistic talents, and dedication to community service.
Charlee Ann excels in a variety of subjects at school, particularly enjoying math, English, and ceramics. Her artistic flair shines through in her ceramics work, where she creates and paints intricate clay structures. Beyond her academic achievements, Charlee Ann is passionate about animal welfare and has been a committed vegetarian for four years. Her decision to embrace vegetarianism stemmed from a rights of passage class and her deep love for animals. With aspirations of becoming a veterinarian, she is particularly focused on the conservation and well-being of elephants.
In addition to her academic and personal endeavors, Charlee Ann is an active leader in her community. She serves as the youth president of NewEra LV, a black empowerment organization that strives to uplift black people and communities. NewEra LV’s initiatives include "Buy Black" tours to support black-owned businesses, "Hood to Hoods" events to engage with communities and provide essential resources, and "Safe Zones" to establish secure spaces within black-owned businesses for individuals in danger.

The prestigious pageant brought together a diverse audience, including esteemed guests such as present and former council persons, assembly persons, and the President of Juneteenth Nevada, Deborah Evans.
In a night that celebrated both elegance and purpose, Eddye Ny'iel Pitts emerged as the shining star, capturing the title of Miss Juneteenth Nevada 2023. Her coronation marked not only a personal achievement but a reflection of her dedication to embodying the principles of Juneteenth - freedom, resilience, and community.

Eddye Ny'iel Pitts, a local entrepreneur and accomplished professional dancer has graced the stages of notable venues such as the Smith Center and various prominent productions across Las Vegas, including the Las Vegas Art Center, Nevada Ballet Theater, and Broadway shows. Eddye-Nyiel's passion for dance and her commitment to community service have positioned her as a remarkable role model in her local community.
Eddye-Nyiel Pitts' dedication to service extends beyond her dance career. A devoted Girl Scout Ambassador, she has actively contributed her time to various noble causes including volunteering at the UNLV Women's Clinic, Food Banks, Americorp, Springs Preserve, and Discovery Children's Museum. Furthermore, her commitment to being a voice for her peers led her to be sworn in as a Peer Counselor within her school district, an honor she undertakes with a strong sense of purpose.
As the elected Black Student Union President (BSU) during her school year, Eddye-Nyiel Pitts demonstrated her leadership acumen by bringing prominent Black leaders to campus, facilitating knowledge-sharing, offering scholarships, and organizing enriching tours of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Her adeptness in marketing and social media was evident in her adept promotion of the BSU through platforms like Instagram.
Despite challenges, Eddye-Nyiel Pitts graduated with flying colors, earning a 3.5 GPA and the highest diploma type offered in her state. She is set to continue her academic journey at Clark Atlanta University, a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), majoring in Mass Media Arts with a minor in law. Her aspiration is to infuse diversity into the industry and amplify voices that echo her own.
