My name is Charlee Ann, and I am Miss Juneteenth NV. I was born in Riverside, California, and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. At 15 years old, I am currently a student at Centennial High School, where I enjoy subjects like math, English, and ceramics, the latter allowing me to create and paint clay structures.
One unique aspect of my life is that I am a vegetarian. I decided to stop eating meat and explore vegan meals four years ago after attending a rights of passage class. This decision was easy for me because of my love for animals and my prior decision to avoid pork. My dream is to become a veterinarian so I can study and help animals around the world. Elephants are my favorite animals, and I am passionate about ensuring their survival and well-being in the future.
In addition to my academic and personal interests, I am the youth president of NewEra LV, a black empowerment organization. NewEra LV is dedicated to uplifting black people and communities through various initiatives. We organize "Buy Black" tours to support black-owned businesses, "Hood to Hoods" events to engage with communities and provide resources, and "Safe Zones" to create secure spaces within black-owned businesses for individuals in danger before contacting emergency services.
